I was hoping some of you would be able to help me out. I'm new to this kinda thing and I know almost nothing about it. But I'm interested in buying a nitro truck. I want to use it for road, and off road. I would like to spend no more then $300. And I would perfer a used truck. Any suggestions as to what kind I should get? I heard hpi is good but I was told that HSP is terrible. Any help would be great guys. Thanks in advance.

Just to due popularity and parts support i'd suggest HPI or Traxxas, the model is completely up to you on what you're going to use it for. Be prepared for a steep learning curve and if you're going to buy a nitro, do it locally as they are a PITA to deal with as a newbie if you get one that's not starting.
