Looking specifically at this model. Anyone know anything about these Himodel ESC's in general and this one is particular? Seems like a heck of a lot of ESC for the money ... and you know what they say ... buy cheap buy ...

Re: Himodel ESC's

I have never used Hi-Model ESC's. However my experience with some of the unknown brands has been less stellar.

If you want a decent reliable ESC that won't break the bank, then buy a Hobbywing or one of their re-branded versions:

- Turnigy Plush/Sentry/K-Force
- ExceedRC Proton/Volcano/Momentum

Be sure to buy the programming card as well.

Re: Himodel ESC's

I think ESC's technology has become mature. For most applications that don't require top quality/top performance, unlike in the early days, most ESCs are just fine IMHO.

I've tried HiModel's Cool ESCs recently, including sending 3 to 3 different test pilots. None of them gave me any negative feedbacks. I haven't personally noticed any major problems either. My application is 3D flying, where fine control of throttle is desired.

My 2 cents.

Hi Models are YGE clones. I tried on out breifly on a heli and it worked very well. The HobbyKing YEP's are YGE clones as well.
