Lots of people know about the VT 80 and it seems Gaspar has now done similar with the 100:

22.5 lbs in a 1 kg /90 mm turbine is quite the potent package ESP when almost everything is integrated into the front cover. My experience with the Merlin 160 is that Jets Munt turbines put out more than their rating.

Peter A has them for 2395.

Seems there's lots of good stiff coming out these days.

It keeps getting better and better. Never been a better time to get into turbines.

Re: Jets Munt news

It's nice to see JetCat alternatives stepping up with new engines that have everything internal. Sure makes install clean.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against JetCat and my P80se gave me no problems what so ever, its just nice to have reasonably priced alternatives and the quality nowadays is pretty good.
Flew with a buddy last weekend who has the new Kingtech 100G with everything internal and was very impressed. Price of $2000.00 aside, nice engine.

Re: Jets Munt news

lots of new features on the Jets Munt line this past year. Check their website. New colour GSU monitor now included. The VT80 and M100 now available with auto/manual in flight restart but go to their website for full details. Things are changing almost as fast as they spin.

Re: Jets Munt news

I bought one of their blue tooth modules and use my iPhone as my GDT on my Kingtech turboprop. of course cabless. Works very well. Works on any engine with Xicoy ecu.

Re: Jets Munt news

With the auto restart feature, would any of you consider flying without an air trap now?

Re: Jets Munt news

I've got a VT80BL and have an air trap installed. I don't intend to enable the auto restart. The feature has its place but there are limitiations. Jets Munt has good info here. http://www.jetsmunt.com/wp/2016/07/1...tart-function/

Re: Jets Munt news

I don't think I would ever fly without an air trap, its purpose is to stop air bubbles that cause flame outs, the chances that you have a flame out in the perfect restart situation could be slim.

Air traps forever

I know there are a few guys out there that fly without them but for $60 why risk a jet.

It could be said, that for $60 your increasing your chance of a flame out by 8 (potential airleak points that is)

True if not done right, never use festo on suction side and wire tie all fittings, I've had hundreds of flights and never had a flame out, the only flame out I have ever had was running out of fuel.

proper install is paramount.

an air trap only has 4 additional points, in, out and fill tube (fill tube has one at the trap and fill end)

its all personal preference, I know the VT80 (have one) does not speak of it in the install manual, but Jet Cat, Jet Central and Behotec all do
