Re: What will you be building this winter

I'm in the same boat as Uberjay - I am building too many flat foamies and having too much fun with them that the regular fleet is suffering. But I do have PLANS to do some building, and number one on the list is to get my Jetco Navigator seaplane finished. It has been hanging unfinished for waaay too long.
- fuse and wing are mostly framed up, need some finishing and covering. This was supposed to be my spring 2012 maiden, but now I am shooting for spring 2013.

Re: What will you be building this winter

Well ... I might as well put down the same answer as last year - a DH83 Fox Moth (about 1/3 finished) and a 3/4 finished 75" version of the SA Models Edge 540 (magnified 1.5 times). Problem last year was we decided to have an indoor flying season so got distracted by building a few foamies & reparing them after banging them into the walls each week!!!! Hope this year I'll get a better handle on it & have some time for other projects ... but hmmm... that thread on indoor control line flying is very interesting ... perhaps I'll build one of those ... at least it should be possible to keep it off the walls.

I'll be finishing my TF P47, I got the glass this week and looking forward to Christmas to see if santa will bring all the items on the needed to complete list. Also my Trex 450 flybarless.
It's okay Pluto, I'm not a Planet either.

Re: What will you be building this winter

I started a Balsa USA Citabria Pro kit. It is my second kit, I intend to go further with finish details than in the first one ( a GP extra 300s). Will have an electric setup .. HK G110 and 8S Batt.

He's interested in space exploration and the planets, so this should be perfect.

For myself I plan on the Mitsubishi A6M Zero. The only thing left to grab is a Saito 62 and a scale spinner. After that it will be continuing to plug away at the Seawind. One wing is complete and the other not far behind. The fuse will be a lot of work as I am moving as many systems forward to address the aft CofG, (this included the fuel tank traditionally behind the engine).

Those are a big if and only in the queue if I've finally addressed all the problems that cropped up this summer. Rare Bear has new wings, the F-15 a new engine and hopefully the soon to be completed Harvard gear mod, (#4 now) will work right.

That also depends on how restrained I am at the upcoming London Swap Meet.........
Are you building the Saturn V for static or flying? If flying... use a more robust motor tube. That bird looks great on something like an Aerotech E15-4, but the ejection charges are "hotter" than the Estes motors... and will burn through the stock tube over time. Also, the Estes D12-3 is marginal for power.

Re: What will you be building this winter

I'm going to finish up the BUSA 1/3rd scale Supercub (been working on this pretty steady for almost a year) and then I need to build a new IMAC weapon (42% Extra 300) so that I can keep up to the local guys!

Re: What will you be building this winter

I am building an MK Cessna 182 and a Senior telemaster on wheels and floats. The 182 is finished except for covering and "paint", the telemaster is not started yet.
