Muffler question

Can you cut the pipes on the stock DL mufflers without affecting anything? Need about 3/4" cut off. There is no way the cowl will fit over the muffler without either cutting the pipes or cutting through the plywood mount ring on the cowl.

Re: Muffler question

Cut away, should not hurt anything, these are not tuned exaust, more akin to a deflector that locates the exaust. Will not hurt a thing.

Re: Muffler question

Of course; if you do find that there is an adverse change in performance with the shorter pipes, you can just take a smaller piece of brass pipe and insert it into the exhaust pipe once the cowl is installed.

Use a small screw to lock it in place.
Life is either a daring adventure...
...or nothing.
