Multirotor and operator needed for video shoot.

We're filming some drag racing this Friday at Cayuga and need someone with a multirotor helicopter that we can fasten a small (gopro) camera to and fly it down the track with the car.

Please let me know if anyone can help with this and what type of compensation you need.

Re: Multirotor and operator needed for video shoot

You may have issues finding someone as commercial work requires an SFOC from Transport Canada. Although someone may be willing to do it on the side perhaps.

Legal compliance aside, you might want to make sure that you get useable video. Getting smooth, quality video is not something anyone with a quad can pull off. You should ask to see examples of their work first to be sure you will get something useable.

Another concern would be the safety people at the drag strip, are they ok with a quad flying down the track following a car? How fast are you planning on going with the car, most multi rotors won't go super fast, so you wouldn't keep up to even a relatively slow car.

Agreed that with faster cars/trucks a multi would have trouble keeping up. A professional rig with panning might do better. I have seen it done where a 600 electric did a couple of runs down the main strip behind the racers but not following them the entire time.
