I was poopin around the net and came across the new 1/7 trinity truck called "Spyder" thats said to come out mid Nov. Street price is set at around 489-539. Look for the 1/7 scale not the 1/18 scale.

Team Trinity: The Spyder is here! Trinity’s first release in the RTR car field is a big one. The Nitro Spyder is a super sized 1/7th scale nitro ready to run monster truck that comes equipped with a tuned 4.27cc R/C car engine. The 427 Monster Horsepower engine was developed especially for monster trucks and hi performance and is not a helicopter or boat engine converted for car use. The Nitro Spyder power plant makes it the fastest of the racing style monster trucks.

1/7th scale

i saw it there too... a couple of things i like about is how narrow the chassis is and how the wheels bolt on... it has big washer like the Nitro MT... the engine is right in the middle and under the spur gear which is steel btw... the only thing i don't like about is the HEAVY wheels and the bumber is basically off a buggy... won't do well around the track because of its high CG and has more bump steer than anything i've ever seen... looks pretty strong though apart from the bumper...

For the wheels, you can just change them and the bumper isn't that big of a deal is it? As for the steering Radio Control Nitro (Jan. 2005) gave its cornering ability a 9 out of 10. In my oppinion it looks like a good truck. You're right that it's not reccomended for the track though. I'd like to see one be modified for the track though, that sounds cool
