Do we in Canada have a national champion in any of the offroad catagories? If not- why not?

i was wondering the same thing a few weeks back, i think that we need to put our foot down, and have a NATS at say sammy's, or belleville. have it be 1/8th scale and MT. the only problem is, is that Canada doesnt have a racing sanction like ROAR or IFMAR. there was talks last year between Fpzy and myself about forming a canadian racing sanction, but i felt there were too many leagal interfearances.

Hey Fozy, maybe it is time to "reserect" the idea we had, and put it into action for this summer

Just so you all know, there are the Canadian Nats, held in Alberta every year. Why Alberta? Don't know. This year it is the 2nd weekend in January. It is a large 1/8 in-door track....
Perhpas whosever idea it was to have it January needs to look a little farther.
Canada's 2 most populated ENGLISH speaking areas are Vancounver and Toronto. Due to my crazy schedule, I don't have time to do any negotiating, but I would gladly put you in touch with the right people.

There have been roar races in the past. Our local Brad Davis was Canadian champ a few years back and went to some big races (I offered to go be his pitman for the nationals but we couldn't afford the trip over hehe)

There is a new race series that has been building over here for the last couple years, you guys might want to get something similar going in your end. it is the Western Canadian Off Road Championship Series WCORCS. every year it seems to grow with some class event racing in multiple cities across provinces.

Maybe a race with each clubs top racer(s) across Canada compete a trophy race. for more info on the series contact Rob

Should also include 1/10 statium trucks. This along with the 1/8 and mt's would cover offroad. Would like to see provincial/regional runoffs to qualify for nationals and to have nationals rotate between east and west to make it fair for everyone.

I would love to see Canadian Nats at Sammy's Speedway :P Run 1/8th Monster Truck and maybe 1/10 gas truck.

But canada does need an actual sanctioning body for these kinds of events.

Why Sammy's?
I run there but I do know that there is a few tracks that are better maintained and more challenging than Sammy's.....I think it would be cool to have a championship but it has to be orginized in advanced canada wide so you get racers from everywhere to really call it the canadian champs.
having a race and calling it the canadian champs is one thing but you need to spead the news of the race across canada to really make it the real champs.
Just my 2 cent ...
