Aluminum Rims for On road Vehicles...

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
Hey guys,
I don't actually spend much time in this forum, based on the fact that I am more an Off Road guy, but I wanted to find out if there would at all be a market for Touring Car rims, made from aluminum. We have produced off road rims in the past, but were wondering if anybody would be interested in Touring Car rims of the same material.

Let me know what you think

Special note to the Mods...if this post is offside I apologize, please delete it if it breaks the rules.

You might talk to Jeff Eveleigh @ Hobby Hobby.
He is xxxmain .
He can tell you exactly what to make and can market it for you if you wish.
He is involved with the PLRC racing series in Streetsville @ HH.
Find me @ Orangeville Opticians if you need more info.

Billet or disc type rims for the Micro RS4 would sell too but im not sure if there is enuff demand to make them.
I have had aluminum rims for mine before but they got bent. so the spokes look good but the way they get pounded we looked for something that was tough instead of pretty.

Jeff is a good person to ask, yes. Most people won't go for the aluminum onroad wheels because they won't race them (more for show), but, the kits for alignments like Hudy tools, etc, can be aluminum made and you could even make those wheel nuts that are finger tightenable for doing setup with. There's also those setup wheels that are also aluminum. Lots of stuff in that department.

Check out Hudy and Integy, they have some nice tools, but the one thing I've noticed, some stuff needs other things that don't come with them. (Hudy has no wheel nuts, you have to supply your own.) I know some people needed other things with the Integy stuff. Find a hole in the setup and offer them. I do know that the offroad cars are sorely lacking in proper setup tools. Good ones at least, that will fit the cars. I know my Hudy won't completely fit the front of my offroad. It'll do the 1/8 scale cars okay, but not the 1/10 I have.

Exactly what capabilities do you have? I've designed lowered TVP's for Savages (1/2" drop that still allow the use of a roto-start). I've also got some other things that I would like to get made... If your interested in maybe making a few custom things, PM me...
