I am getting my guys email addy tonite. Both Ab and Ont have the private insurance so the cost shouldn't differ that much. I know the insurance that Delmo needed for his indoor event was outrageous also, I believe it was 2k for that race. THere is a dramatic difference when it comes to one time insurance, vs a yearly contract. You also have to remember that we are a fully registered not-for-profit society with all the nescasary bylaws and such. It may differ dramatically for just a group of guys.

That is exactly the problem here in ontario.

We have negotiated property in the Barrie area to build an outdoor track.
Our main pitfall is and has always been insurance.

Every place..and I mean every place that we have approched about running an event...has granted us permission....many times for no cost, but require general liability insurance.

I have finally tracked down a company and after many months of discussion have found an insurer that will talk shop with us.

However I've got a 40 page questionaire that needs to be filled out.

Many things have to be worked out and considered.

basically a standard set of rules, regs, and layout have to be put in writing.

You can see why r.o.a.r standards are as ugly as they are...its mostly because of underwritting.

I can go on and on about this but basically there are a number of options which eventually will be available. I want to just get one track insured along with a few of our events to get this going.
