I have flown a lot of helicopters. I have had dragonfly, hummingbird, picollo fun, shogun, t rex, hirobo xrb, bladerunner, eco 8. I had others but these were in the range. all the fixed pitch micros sucked. you have to do a lot of work and spend some money to get them flying. the only micro I will call what I did with it flying was the picollo. the others I crashed into something or other and broke like china.

I started with nitros and could fly those and have pretty good understanding of the mechanics before attempting. my trainer told me from the beginning to stay away from the micros, but hey, I can fix anything lol. um ya.

I broke down and got a shogun next. it flew well, nice and light and even handled outdoors. the tail gears were a weak point but mine lasted a long time. parts are not cheap but not as expensive as say a hornet.

the xrb is an indoor only heli. I tried to take it outside and unless you set things for maximum agility, you can get in trouble fast with wind (watched mine going right past a tree and nothing I did could hold it until wind died down.) indoors it is the most stable and easy to fly heli going. it has different settings to go from smooth and easy for beginners to agile enough to pull off funnels. I traded it to a buddy as he is a new father and that little girl can really scream for a long time and loud. the xrb fascinates her, so it became his practice pacifier and a little sanity at 5 am lol

I am hooked on t rex. bang for buck you can't beat them. parts are cheap, heli is tough. the kit comes with extra blades and such. you'll need to go brushless and lipo to have fun, but it's well worth the investment.

eco 8 is cool, bit big for indoor, and expensive parts. ikarus is made in germany so expect parts to be a little more.

how about the eflight blade cp... how does that stack up against the other minis... i'm hooken on heli's since the show and would like to get a micro heli... which of these helis has support from local hobby shops? i'd want to hop whatever i get to brushless and lipo as well as carbon fibre parts... does any one of the micros really stand out as far as quality and performance (regardless of price)
