Can Anyone Tell Me What The Difference Between All Of These Ofna Buggies Is? I Am Considering A Hyper 7 But Too Many Models Of It Out There. Also, What's The Difference Between The Hyper 7 And The 9.5 Violator?

OFNA is a solid choice as a buggy. They offer Entry-level buggies and Pro Level buggies. OFNA is also the North American distributor of Ho Bao and Hong Nor products. Basically..the Hyper 7 line is Ho Bao and the 9.5 line is Hong Nor.

The Hyper 7 is the more RACE of the 2 buggies whereas the 9.5 Violator is a buggy with extended arms(wider stance).

No need to go Pro here...OFNA offers both models in Ready to Run and both are solid choices for a first time buggy owner.

Good choices are:

Hyper 7 PCR RTR......comes with starter box...some say toughest RTR buggy.

9.5 Violator......well built.....great stability...fun!!!!!!!

OFNA Comp.....budget version of Violator....great bang for buck

ALSO: dont be afraid to check out the SPORTWERKS line..........The NEW Sportwerks Mayhem is a solid choice. The Truggie version of this line just recently tore up the track at the SPRUCEWOOD!

In the end all 1/8 buggies are very very tough.......and fun

Thumbs up

I second that on the Mayhem !! The RTR version is rock solid for the money
and it comes with many hop ups. Parts are available at a couple of LHS in the GTA and it comes with a JR xr3i radio. This buggy is FAST out of the box.

Ho Boa manufactures all the Hyper series buggies ...they are the guys that sponsored the last world champs in Sweden and ended up TQ'ing then getting diqualified because of an over sized fuel tank. I believe they are also the factory that makes the Jammin' buggy. The Hong Nor company makes the Ultra series of buggies and the 9.5's...they are GENERALLY less expensive and more designed for the the entry level racer. The quality for both has greatly improved over the past decade. Whatever you pick...make sure your LHS carries spares.
To finish first....first ya gotta finish!

The hyper 7 tq is pretty good as wellk, it gives you a chance to add your own radio equipment and motor, 99% of the time you change your servos in the rtr and after a day of racing you'll want a faster motor than the rtr versions. The Hyper 7 TQ goes for about $275

I would also suggest the Jammin RTR. It's from the OFNA family as well. It would be my favorite from them. The pro series of this buggy just finished 2nd in Xtreme R/C Mag shootout. If you want to get just the buggy without radio and motor. There are alot of choices. That way you only pay once. You get exactly what you want. Just ask here and you will get tons of suggestions.
