As a father of a 14 yr old , this is one of the best hobbies to be involved in , we spend time together plus he breaks them ,he repairs them .Its also one of a few things we can compete with each other and the results are never the same

Not sure who likes R/C more??

Not sure who likes RC more, our 13 yr old or me?? (actually we are both into it in a huge way)

It is one of the best ways of spending some good quality time with your kid.

As a kid I had an old futaba FX/10 (which I still have, but broke last year)

Then our son came along - maybe having a kid into RC is a great way to relive your childhood, (and you don't have to save your allowance as long to buy your toys)

This is how bad we are (or how lucky our son is) we started off with the usual Radio shack goodies as he was growing up
then I got a couple of rc cars for the "kid"
first I got An Ofna 0b4 nitro on road, then a Tmaxx2.5, then as he got older he really showed a lot of interest in RC cars and a few years ago could start racing

Since we are both into RC this is when it started getting real expensive - 2 X Tamiya M04 on road Spectrum all around etc etc....
- then oh oh, we discovered off road!!! he got a T3 truck,w/brushless I got a T4,w/brushless and we both have B4's, then the Tamiya M03R mini's came out, (got 2) then getting ready for TCS Rally, 2 X TT01's, then I had to treat myself to a Xray008, and christmas came with a F103 GT for our son. Then the various shared RC goodies, Blimp, Blade CX2 helicopter, Commander 2 Plane, a boat, (I need to put more shelves up)
Our son's interest shows no sign of slowing down, he's getting quite a collection of trophies and plaques from different races. (yes he beat me once - he won't let me forget that)

It's a great hobby to get into,
Our son has learnt so much from the hobby, and we always have a great time at the races we attend.

It really helps that my wife likes the fact that it's "our thing" that we do, but has quoted me having said "it's the last car we will get"

I guess thanks go out to John Catricala at fastcats who started the on road racing ball rolling for us. (and keeps the RC fire stoked for us)
and Sean Hurley for letting us try his off road car at Sid's raceway (see what trouble that got us into)

You know how you get around that? Get her into it. Maybe she wants to try flying.
Eat hot slag you... oh, sorry mom.
