We're loving your suggestions. keep them comming in. one thing though, a suggestion means that you're willing to put your actions where your words are. even if it's just doing some research for the cause. that will be great.
all of the interest in the previous posts is really very promissing and smart!! I believe that with a group of like-minded people we can achieve this small goal.
A 1/18 AND 1/10 TRACK(S) ACCESSIBLE TO MEMBERS AND GUESTS WHERE ALL PARTIES INVOLVED BENEFIT FROM THE OPPERATION.
in order for there to be a burning reason for a sponsor to want to get involved, we should think of a hospital that we could run our first annual fundraising race. it could be the 2n'd weekend of July. this way those involved would get the summer's worth of advertising (I guess we're saying that it will be on a major route like hwy 24 or 25 or 10 or dundas or lakeshore or something.)
the proposal is in the works. I've gathered funds before for much bigger things that this. with the right presentation, there should be no problem with getting the donors to make the whole thing possible.
IT'S ALL ABOUT FINDING A NEED AND FITTING IT. ALL THESE COMPANIES HAVE BUDGETS FOR DONATIONS ETC..... EVEN IF THEY DON'T THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING IN IT FOR THEM WHEN THERE A BARTER FOR ADVERTISING SPACE.
We need people willing to take on the following chores:
1. making a list of all the possible wood/hardware donators for the project and getting the proper contact info? then forwarding to them our proposal.
2. making a list of all the possible CONSTRUCTION/ CARPENTRY/ RENOVATION CONTRACTORS who are willing to consider becoming donators for the project and getting the proper contact info? then forwarding to them our proposal.
3. making a list of all the possible landscape/ heavy machienery/ paving/ etc.... donators for the project and getting the proper contact info? then forwarding to them our proposal.
4 research for the possible venue.
once this is done, even if we're at the corner of here are some of the possible areas. between brampton and bolton nobleton and vaughan/woodbridge. also what about the turcker's restaurants near the 401, from toronto all the way out past mississauga. there are tons of areas.
YOU GUYS HAVE GOT TO HELP WITH THIS . LET'S MAKE A LIST OF 100 POSSIBLE LOCATIONS AND START NARROWING IT DOWN. LET'S START TALKING WITH PEOPLE THAT WE KNOW AS WELL AS OWNERS OF LAND ETC.....
WHO LIVES AT THE END OF THE 10TH LINE JUST SOUTH OF THE 401? i'M CHECKING OUT THE GOOGLE MAPS PAGE WHERE YOU CAN SWITCH BETWEEN THE PHOTO AND THE MAP AND THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS. IT WOULD BE SOOOOOO GREAT TO BE NEAR AN URBAN AREA SO THAT THERE WOULD BE A LOCAL FOLLOWING AS WELL.
GOTTA GO. WAITING FOR YOUR RESPONSES.

Downsview National Park
Downsview Park is to be the premier and first national urban park for all Canadians. They have finished building phase 1, and completed their first public annual meeting on Feb. 20th. Unfortunately I was not able to attend, but I did submit an email question to the Board of Directors to address at the public meeting. Of course, my email was about building an off/on-road RC track, but my email was not answered nor do I know if it was addressed at the meeting. Nevertheless, I still go to Downsview Park to bash because it is huge, and nitro noise is not a problem.
Perhaps this could be the "perfect" venue for a RC track in the GTA?
It is centrally located at Sheppard & Allen Expway, very close to Hwy401, and it has a TTC subway stop (for those without cars). The website:
They are looking towards a "self-funding" models for projects, which I believe you folks are already considering. BTW, the park already have bulldozers there
as they are still building it.
LET'S MAKE OUR TAX DOLLARS WORK!!!
Just a thought and Thanks
