what motor

All depends on where you plan to run it, and how fast you want it to go.

For example last Sunday I ran my predator X10 4wd buggy with only a 19 turn motor and it was okay, as the track only had one long straight away.

But if you go to a huge track or just want it to go fast on the street you could go as low as a 10 turn.

If you are also asking what brand to buy, I would say just about any brand of motor is good as long as it over 50 or 60 dollars.

For example my last couple of motors ran me over $80 each.

You can buy cheaper motors but you get what you pay for.

last thing to consider is how good your batteries are. If you are using cheap 1500 packs or the likes a good 10 turn motor won't last you long.

check the manual of the speed controller, it will tell you the lowest turn motor your speed controller can handle....

the 19 turn spec motor is a really good motor, it is used in most class races and it is a really good motor for mid size tracks
You can drive a fast truck slow, but you can't drive a slow truck fast!

do yourself a favor and forget brushed motors... go brushless... for the same price if not less you can get a nice brushless system that will out perform any brushed system... to top it all off there is no cutting comms or replacing brushes all the time... its virtually maint. free... check out starluckrc.com... i have a mtronics genesis pro esc and a fiego 380c 7t motor... i got the package for 200us from starluck and it kicks serious **... i spent more money on just the esc for my brushed system and it just sees minimal use on my touring car when i can't use the brushless for rule reasons...
