If you buy one, go for the 6 port (red head) or blue head versions. Avoid the older black head SH28, it is famous for snapping its connecting rod after about a gallon of fuel.
I have two of these motors, they are both quite powerful and are really easy to tune.

Yup what john said. SH makes a pretty good engine. They make XTM's engines as well as the Losi Machs and Sportwerks .21 and .26 which are all awesome engines IMHO. Tefflawn had an SH .28 in an XTM Mammoth ST and it rocked! You could also look into STS engines. Smoking engines for the price as well.

For the price they're both hard to beat.

Sts 28

Get the STS 28. More power than the SH 28 3 port, more reliable and cheaper. This is unless you are power crazy, in which case, it sounds like the new SH 6 port has more power.

Savage-central has like a 60 page thread on the STS 28. I have one. It gave me trouble, however i believe it was due to improper break in on my part. I broke it in a second time, and ever since, it has run better than any engine i have/or have seen.

P.S. If i was rich, i would go buy somethign more expensive from a local hobby shop. However i am not rich, and and im a cheap *.
Currently out of the RC "mix"
