Mid October Race?

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
Just wondering afew things...

1) any cost to enter if there is a race?

2) How is the track compared to Sid's (if anybody has been)
eg) bigger, smaller, more jumps, bigger jumps?

3) Obviously there is 1/8 scale vehicles, does the track seem too big to run 1/10 electric buggies on?

4) If anybody races at Sid's, maybe put the word out and there may be a following of electric vehicles to the Peterborough track.

5) Is there a transponder system? Or does everyone counts their own laps.

6) How many laps is a race?

Hey guys,

There will be an official posting with all the details next week but i'll answer any questions I can for now.

1) Cost: Just like sids there will be a pre-registration discount. The cost will be between $10-15ish (TBD)

2) Jumps: There are more jumps: 2 doubles, whoop section with 4 jumps and a large jump on the far side of the track. The track is longer than sids but driving time per lap should be about the same 28-32 sec on average.

3) I have run my 1/10 scale XXX buggy on it and it works fairly well. Part of our prep work is smoothing the track a bit which will make it very nice for the 1/10 buggies. The 1/10 trucks would work well as it is without smoothing it.

4) Please put the word out to everyone you know so we can make this race a success.

5) Unfortunately no transponder system but there is lap counting software being used so you will have access to the same type of stats that were available during the races at sids such as fastest lap etc... But instead of having a transponder the vehicles will be numbered so the scorekeeper will manually on the computer hit the number corrisponding to the car the trigger the lap.

6) Electric will be 5min races and qualifiers. Nitro lenght is to be determined.

We are having a meeting on Tuesday night to discuss and finalize plans for the race. Soon after that I will post advertising the race with all the details and there will be a pre-registration from available on our web site soon after as well.
