me and my brother were out running our trucks last night,he has a savage x with a mach 427 and 3speed and i couldnt hear the thing shifting,i figure it had to be shifting because it had to be going like50 mph or more and there is no way it would do that speed without shifting,just wondering if anyone has one of these trannies and if your supposed to hear them shift.i know on a couple of 1/10 nitros i have had in the past you wouldnt hear the 2speed shift,just wondering if this is the same.

you should be able to hear it shift!
to be for sure try this...find a up hill road or street..and from a dead start start ur savage at full throttle you should be able to hear it as it shift when it goes in an up hill couse the motor its under lil bit more load.
make sure the up hill is not to steep as u wouldnt have enough speed or rpm to make the shifts!

a slight uphill should be all you need to do your test!

let me know

i was driving it in some pretty nasty terrain,uphill,downhill,snow,etc it just sounded like 1 long gear.i know the engine pretty well (had one in my lst)and i know its not capable of those speeds if it wasnt just wondering if its normal to be so lst is way heavier and with that engine it would crack a wheelie in 2nd.

I don't know man, the my 2-speed does the exact same thing. It has too much power at low rpm, but it passes well over 60 km/h at WOT, so it must be shifting, but I cannot hear it. I know for a fact that if it were to run only in first gear, it would not be much faster then me walking (there was a point it did not shift for me, till I tuned it)

Don't worry, if it's fast and has torque at low rpms, it is shifting. If it were to be stuck in first, it would be slow. If it were to be stuck in a higher gear, it would barely accelerate.
