I don't know if i'd say better quality........But as far as .28s go the Mach is a Little less powerfull than aLot of the others out there....
The LRP Z .28R Spec 3 engine is one of the better .28s out, In the same Price range as the others.....It's around $160 US

axial 28

i have an axial 28 in my savage and i find it to be a great motor with lots of torque and very easy to tune. id recommend it to someone wanting to drop a big block in their monster truck . and the best part about an axial motor is that the cost isnt expensive like rb concepts,ninjas, and you can get an axial 28 at most hobby stores for less than 200 bucks canadian.

had/have all thre engines heres my opinion;
mach 28-bought it ran for 1/2 gallon and sold it.-not impressed at all.
i can think of 10 better engines for the money
axial 28-holds tune well,very reliable,bang for buck engine,not impressed with top end performance,dislike rotostart unit due to reverse turning drive.
lrp spec 3-best bang for buck,awesome power,holds tune great,no cooling issues,wicked top and bottom end.for $180 us you wont buy a better engine.very hard to find one in stock.

My two cents, I had the Mach 28 and got rid of it, wasn't impressed with the high end, so bought the Axial 28 and was very successful with it. Tons of power easy to tune and for the price, can't go wrong and as mentioned by somebody else, most hobby shops carry it.

Can't comment on the LRP as haven't had the chance to own one yet.

just a side note: you need to find the right pipe and header combo for that paticular motor! not all motors will have the same results with the same pipe and header! that's why they call them tuning pipes and headers

if you have a bottom end motor then strap on a top end pipe and vise versa every motor on the market now days has all the power you need, just need to know how to get it out of the motor
