I've been running a VXR lipo pack in my 3PK all year, and it is one of the best investments I've made, I got it for running buggy and truggy at the glorcs races, with the potential of running two, 1 hour long mains back to back, my pack is a 1700mah pack, and even though its lower mah than a AA pack, it actually stays over 10-11 volts long enough to get use out of it, I found when running AA's, they would be under 9 volts, and probally still had quite a bit more juice left in them, I just couldn't use it, and the lipo lasts longer becuase its a more efficent battery, so a 1700mah lipo would last a lot longer than a 1700 nimh,

but just to give an example of how long I can go on it, I ran at least the first 6 races (i'm not sure exactly when i charged it, but I know it was at least after 6 races) at the Niagara track without charging it, min 6 hours run time, by the time you count practice and races for two classes, and I was just under 11 volts, so I probalyl could have gone another month easy, I havn't seen my radio under 10 volts the entire time i've had the battery, i just charge it from force of habit I think

also the lipo didn't do anything to the futaba synth module, so unless the JR one is different, it should be fine too, and I've also heard the "top heavy" complaint, but when I'm driving I spend my time focusing on what the cars doing, I dont even notice the total weight differecen in the radio, but I also never really had issues with the weight before, I got the pack strictly for the run time,

also VXR has a new 3300mah pack for the 3PK and M11, but I'm not really sure where to get it, the place I got my 1700 pack doens't carry them anymore, and I can't seem to find anyone else in north america that sells them,

also to the guy with the fire picture, unless your joking, which I hope you are, you obviously know nothing about lipo, they dont just spontaneously combust, like abiye said, if a lipo pack can survive as a RX pack in a buggy or truggy, which I had all summer as well, it deffinatly can survive in a zero impact, low amp draw radio aplication, oh and also, has your cell phone with a lipo battery every burst into flames while you were using it?

If you're not having fun you're doing it wrong!
