TowerHobbies 1990 - Feeling Nostalgic??

Last year while cleaning out an old closet, I came across an RC Car Action magazine from May 1990.

I got a real kick outta reading through the magazine, and before I get rid of it I thought you guys might get a kick out of seeing where the hobby was back in 1990.

For you old-schoolers, I'm sure this will bring up some nostalgic feelings - and for you newbies - have a look at where the hobby was back in the day!

Did you remember that Futaba used to make r/c car kits?? I didn't!

Here's the Tower Hobbies Ad from the mag:

And some other random adverts (big bear, blackfoot, lazer zx, etc)

Oh the memories!!! <sniff>

I'd still really like to get a "retro race" going like we talked about in the Sid's Raceway forum - only problem is I'm not sure how keen we all are on getting our ancient shelf queens on the track - not as easy to replace broken parts anymore!!!

Lol it was that mag in 1993 that insiped me to purchase the U.S.A 1 Electric from Kyosho. I hopped the crap out of it with Thorpe Drivelines, Sassy chassis, 4 wheel steering kit, Trinity Monster Mash 15 turn motors and all the best Novak goodies at the time.

Oh the good old days....

That's pretty cool. I was thinking of starting a thread with "vintage" advertisements.

I'm up for a "retro race" I may have my JRX2 out at Niagara this weekend
