For those of you that have read the FastCats forum already know I am all for the idea since I started a simular post about a week ago...

As for how to grid, my suggestion is to do a sort in the begining of the race day... race two qualifiers where the front half and back half of the pack are switched in the following format:

Qualifier #1
A1, A2
A3, A4
A5, A6
A7, A8

Qualifier #2
A5, A6
A7, A8
A3, A4
A1, A2

This is how we used to grid back in the days where laps were counted via a trust comodore 64. It worked great back then...

Resort... 3rd qualifier run like sorted

Resort... main

Although a great suggestion, I think changing the heats that the person is in will make for some problems when it comes to battery charging.

The bottom line (as I mention in my FastCats post), we all need to practice starts from standing still and to be honest... a race is always more fun then the qualifiers.

I have no issues with a standing start per say...

But I would like to see a re-sort.. at least once.

You can't predict when people register, and what heat they will be put in because of radio issues. To leave a hacking in with fast guys is fair to no-one.

My suggestion would be a re-sort after 2 heats. This should allow you one heat to run hard and one mulligan. The new heats SHOULD be much more equal.. you are placed on the start grid in the third heat according to your combined position after 1&2
