Break in,

A nice easy process of cycling a nitro motor to properly seat the sleeve and piston.

A relatively long process culminating in the final two tanks of gas being used to properly tune the engine.

Easy right? Well ya, thats what I thought.

I had run through about 6 tanks of gas, and was on the final two for tuning. At half a tank on the 7th tank, with the motor still running extremely rich, a rock.... the BIGGGESST dam rock you ever saw, popped out from no where.

I swear to god that this rock hunted my buggy and at the most inopportune time jumped it. Right in front I tell you.

Damage report, bent shock tower, busted bumper, and the piece de resistance.... a cracked front diff case. Needless to say, my day was done, and the biggest jump that I hit was ankle high.

Oh well, I will post pics as soon as I have some.

i feel your pain dude... i was breaking in my Collari .32 and i was on the last 2 also when my crystal fell out (full throttle) and then bang, into a fence. Flips on its top (no body = SCRAPE) and screams at full RPMs starving for fuel as i run to get it. it was really hot and has never ran good after break-in. i have to bring the temps up to around 280* (overheating) to get some power (ya, it damaged my piston and sleeve something good). needless to say, good thing there were no little kids around when my mouth was open.

well, at least I never got up over 215 with the heat.... I did blow a glow plug though.

But that was because I didnt even notice that the tank was empty. No damage though. I had temped it just then and it was 215.

and yeah, that wasnt the only problem for the day.... it was really rocky where we were at. My friend needed his trug tuned, I did a couple hot laps, and was bringing the trug back to me, of course gunned. Hit a diveted, shot right, corrected, or I should say, over corrected. The rear right rolled over a rock.

Cartwheeling time!!!! when all was done, a broken shock. Just a bad day for the Fear.

Then again, all my sessions usually are :P

Yeah, I find that rocks and trees just seem to jump right out infront of me too. I also hate it when a stop sign jumps out infront of my 1:1 scale!
