Track size? shopping for engine

Hey guys,

I was just wondering how long the straight is at this track.. i'm going to begin racing there this summer, and i'm shopping for an engine for my Prospec.

I was told that a lower port engine like 3 ports would be suitable for a track that has a straight less than 130 feet long.. otherwise i should probably get a 5 or 7 port engine.

is there going to be any port restriction for the saturday races? i assume engine size will be limited to .21? thanks

The straight on the track is about 200ft. The rest of the track is very technical though with a lot of jumps and turns. For pics check There is not going to be any port restriction and the races are on Sunday.

unless ur a serious racer, get a 3 port. 5 or more ports you have to tune for like, 20 minutes everytime u drive. i like being able to run my car as soon as i start it!!!

thanks for the tip, 3 ports seem a lot cheaper too, and since this engine will be used for a bit of bashing, actually probably more bashing than racing, i guess i'll just save the $ and buy a 3 port, i just hope i won't get smoked on the straight at hardcore?

if you think you need more speed on the straight just go with a higher tooth clutchbell if you are running a 13 tooth go to a 14

re a good cheap reliable engine

for about 200 bucks including taxes you can go buy an axial 28 which is a 7 port engine. i have one in my savage and its a great engine. easy to tune and lots of bottom end grunt.
