i have been hanging around this forum for since Nov of 2004.

I have seen a lot of tracks come and go from now til then.

Birchmount/ellesmere was one, Gamers Lair was another.

In all this time I have only lived in one city that had a track in my backyard, and that was Windsor.

I worked WAY to dam much to hit ANY of the GLORCS races for the last couple of years. And never got a chance to hit the Kingsville track.

Now, I have time to hit the tracks. And GLORCs races if I can hone my skills enough. But where am I going to hone my skills? I cant afford trips to collingwood, hardcore, FTR, Glenwood, Belleville(??) all the time. I live in an apartment, I cant build a track in my backyard.

Oh yeah, and my car died, so I have to drive my G/F's car now. and that is like pulling friggin teeth.

So where am I going to practice? hmm I wonder. Where are most of my friends going to practice? I wonder that too.

Oh wait, i know... THE FIVE. yep, you heard it right, THE FIVE. Why you ask??? ITS IN MY BACKYARD.

C-low... I dont know you, but I was offended by your post. If I wasnt laying a carpent for my friends father in-law, and I had the money. I would be at FTR. If I wasnt laying carpet, and I dont have the money to drive to the states, stay for the weekend, pay for a room food booze etc, I would be at THE FIVE.

I know of at least 15 people that bash in the GTA and would love to hit a track. So, if I know of that many, and each of them only knows of 5, and they know of five etc..... guess what.....THERE ARE ENOUGH BODIES TO GO AROUND

Amazing isnt it.....

Like the Grandmaster said.. SUPPORT THE HOBBY,

Like I am saying... If you feel like your toes are stepped on, sit back, take a breath and PRIVATE MESSAGE speedmetal or Tefflawn Ron.

Thats my 2.25(inflation)

c-low - not cool man.
these guys are what southern ontario COMMUNITY R/C is all about. The GTA hasn't had a nitro track within its boundaries for a donkey's age. Its PRECISELY what the hobby in this region needs to kickstart the business in the shops and boost the number of people looking to get some track time. Its a track within reasonable distance of a major urban centre. Combine that with the sucess at sids and the well-known Fastcats, and this hobby is on a roll!
You'd be very hard pressed to find any registered glorcs racer who is ditching the FTR race for an simple open practise at a new track in the GTA, aside from Bill and Ron. Everyone who's going to the race knows the #5 track will be there next week, next month, and if all goes well, next year. If I'm wrong on that statement, I'd be very suprised.
The more people who hear about a track within reasonable distance of a major centre like Toronto, the more people who will come out to play, and the greater the chances that some of those people who came out to play get hooked on racing, and that means invariably that the number of competitors goes up, and so does the level of competition.

get rid of this u.s race and give the slot to number 5 next year. What a whinney . Who the are you to tell others when they can open. Its people like Ron and Bill that have been great to me and my team helping us get started in this hobby. Team Melanga Racing gives two thumbs up to number 5 raceway.

re want some cheese with that whine?

i agree with gump,grandmaster g and speed metal 100%.

the gta has a population of almost 3 million people with no track in this area for a long time

this track is exactly what we need to kickstart the rc hobby in this area and will help to get alot of new people into it.
it seems that c-low always is whining and giving negative feedback on this forum.

i would liked to have checked out full throttle raceway in the future as it looks like a very wicked track and i know alot of my teammates have told me how much fun it is to race at FTR but after c-lows whiny commentary about our track ill probably never goto race at FTR

all i can say is c-low stop your whining for sake. and dont bother coming to race at our new track because i think i can speak for alot of guys on here who are tired of your wah wah wah

Congrats to everyone involved!
I LOVE the fact that the track is 4 minutes (yep, I timed it) from my house. It allows me to be close to home and still enjoy my hobby.
Mods should be deleting these rant posts as they just look bad on the community.
I will be there this weekend for sure, only the weather can hold me back.

I'm excited about this track as it's 10 mins from Milton. Now I just need to figure out which 1/8th buggy is the right one for me.

It's going to be a busy summer with work, 1/10th and 1/8 offroad. And my rookie year of racing.

Play nice everyone... All valid points but the the racers that were going will still be going not just to run on a track but the thrill of the competition etc... Most of the tracks in and around our surrounding area are private... The #5 track will be able to cater to racers but more importantly introduce the world of organized RC to newbies and help our hobby grow which is a good thing for sure!!

So anyways let's all play nice in this sandbox with our toy cars

Don't worry guys. I always play nice! And please everyone, stop with any kind of name calling towards Chuck! That guy has done TONS of good for this hobby! I understand Chuck has some grievances and he will voice them, bless his soul! I've got no problem with that. He's entitled to his opinion, wrong as it is

Why thank you! I pride myself on my writing. I try to type the bestest english as I can It's OK that you don't agree with the reasons why we're having a practice this weekend. That's your God given right! And I really hope you don't harbor any ill will because I know I certainly don't. But try to understand Chuck we need to open this track ASAP! We need to start the revenue rolling in and keep the buzz going.

The GTA has NO tracks until now. The way I (we) see it, there's not enough tracks around here. Gas prices being what they are, people need a track close by to lure them into racing. Then once they're hooked that'll bring more racers into GLORCS. Wasn't it you that said that "Club racing is the backbone of the sport." or something like that? I agree with you 100% so we're trying to cultivate that! Three million people in the GTA That's 3,000,000 people!! One offroad track! Well two counting Sids. The more people we can get racing at the "5", the more potential racers that'll consider traveling to FTR for a GLORCS race. It's just that simple!

And if other tracks close down, well then it was meant to be. It would hurt me to hear any track has closed. Survival of the fittest is one of the primary tenets of capitalism. And that could mean that the "5" won't last a year. I highly doubt it though! It's a dog eat dog world out there, but tracks can co-exist and even prosper together. But only the good ones, like the "5", FTR, Hardcore, Niagara, Sammy's, etc will make it because of the people who run the show.

They're the people who really care about the sport and are willing to go that extra mile to make sure people enjoy themselves and go away with happy memories, win or lose, finish or break. That way they'll keep coming back. They'll eventually get sick of seeing my ugly face and wanna try a different track for a change of pace. Now GTA'ers will at least have a choice!

I really hope you come down and check out the GTA's newest track, The "5" RC Raceway! We won't even charge you! Anyways, good luck this weekend Chuck. You're gonna need it driving a Kyosho!
