Just wnated to say thanks to the FTR guys for putting on a great show. the track was awesome - the layout was fun to drive, just technical enough to make it a bit of a challenge, the back straight was GREAT (you really needed me to make you a REAL berm at the end of it, though)! LOVED the jumps, too!
Thank GOD there was no rain... well actually I would have been quite happy to run it in the mud - I was ready for it.
The level of competition seemed to be up this year - at one point in quals I noticed the guys at the top of the C were a mere 21 or 22 seconds slower than the TQ in buggy over a 5 minute qual - thats pretty damned good, considering some of the talent we're up against. Thats not much more than 3 or 4 marshalls (or 2 really bad ones). I have a feeling that this year is going to show some very fierce competition, and I can see that even the best drivers are only going to get better as we get on with it.

I thought that I heard someone running a car. Just thought that is was some drunk guy that hadn't had enough run time during the day. That was a very good time. Looking forward to Sammys.

great track layout this past weekend at ftr! lots of places to pass and a great selection of jumps...I hope I got rid of all my bad luck for the year!!!
lost a ctutch bell bearing in the buggy during warm up,passed 3 cars into the first corner, bobbled and made my way back to the front, got hacked to 2nd last and sliced through the field back to the front again after a couple more laps, then the bearing started seizing when I would apply the brakes in the air, restarted a few times to try to figure out what the problem was, seemed fine for a few laps then it would sieze again, I did check them before the main and thought they were o.k. but they did have 3 race weekends on them and clutch bearings always wear pretty fast...oh well
truggy main was going better, got off to a great start from tq and pulled out a big lead, sometime after the first pit stop the announcer said "abiye is catching up a bit"(I was about a half lap ahead) and I thought it was time to pick up the pace, after a few more minutes I caught up to abiye and he let me go, I pulled out another half lap and was just cruising 1 1/2 laps over the field when the left front steering ball end unthreaded itself from the steering knuckle!!! totally my fault, I had not checked them and the truck is a "race roller" and this was it's 4th race weekend, you think I would know better, guess I will be checking how snug screws are more often, got back on the track and still finished 4th I think
congrats andrew and abiye, but watch out next race, I WILL be working more carefully on my stuff
