Need help replacing Bushless With Bearings?

I have a Gravel Hound I want to put in Bearings but in the kits there are 3 different kinds and the pack to buy there are only 2 different kinds.

I know there are 8 Bearings for around the wheels 2 on each one that look really easy to change what are the other 4 for?

The packs I saw come with 12 bearings 8 for the wheels and 4 for? Thanks for the help also is there a better place to put my thread?

where to put bearings

Did you build this car from scratch, or did it come pre-assembled?

If you built it, everywhere that you put in a white plastic bushing a bearing goes. Tamiya normally will replace the brass bushings with bearings as well when you upgrade.

If it came pre-assembled, you will have to look at the manual, and it should tell you their where to replace the plastic and bronze bushings.

As to where the other 3 bearings go, they usually go inside the transmission to free the drive train up a bit.

Not owning a kit I can't tell you specifics, but you are right about the 8 wheel bearings for sure, the others are from my own tamiya builds.

Hope this helps a bit.

O the reason to replace the plastic and brass bushings with bearings is that the bushings tend to wear and will create slop, and the bearings will give you better performance.

Pick yourself up some bearing oil when you buy your bearings, as a little dab of oil helps the bearings last longer. Just don't overdue it, as the oil will attract dirt and bind the bearings up.

DF chassis

That version you have will only require the 8- 5x11's for the wheels as the transmission/gearboxes already come with bearings.

Just to add to Dave, you are running in dirty conditions. Go for rubber ealed bearings
