O.K I am still learning here. I got a savage X 4.1 it came with a 15t clutch bell installed and a 49t spur gear. It also came with a option 18t clutch bell, if I install it what difference would it make. Or better yet can someone give me a quick lesson on gearing?

Thanks Peter.

just what MR warhead said

i would stay with 15 clutch bell unless your staying on pavment then you can use the 18t it will probly over heat your motor if you use it offroad though

so the way i look at it is

clutch bell the less teeth you have the more tourqe you get
more teeth and you get more speed but risk having no tourqe

spur gear bigger gives you more tourqe
and smaller more speed
