Well dude...I guess someone should lock out the thread. There seemed to be quite a bit of action back in September and October before a pause until January of this year. Looks like about 16 additional posts have gone through this year.

I did miss out on the action initially probably due to the fact that I decided to spend most of my time in other forums since I couldn't look for deals. I try to check back occasionally to see what is going on, but since I am already in other forums looking to see what deals are to be had, I tend to stay at that forum to see what is going on.

Perhaps my problem is what I consider to be a "meaningful" post. Simply jumping on a forum and saying "Hey Joe are you going to the track?", doesn't say anything about the character of the poster and doesn't help to determine whether or not I will be ripped off by this person. Yet it would appear that after doing this type of thing 10 times, he/she has the right to post items for sale and to start ripping people off if he/she chooses to do so.

If this topic is truly dead, then it should be locked out.

I could buy something from a guy with a thousand posts and still get ripped off but I think some new guys come here to look for second hand gear because they can't afford new. and why not your looking for an rc car or truck this would be the place to look and if your like me you will get what your looking for and use the site to figure out how to hop up or fix the item I bought here, I know a few people on here personally and it is a great community to have fun in but if you police it like your talking about you might as well make it a pay site for private users only although I don't think you would have many left because there are too many free sites out there that have alot of information like this one. I think the forsale section is also good for the seasoned pro to unload last years stuff for the latest and greatest which benefits everyone. Lets face the facts without a forsale and trade section sites would lose steam quickly. Just my 2 cents.

I totaly agree with the above post....I am here for the for sale section...... yet I do agree with with trying to take extra precautions... just don't know that this is THE solution....... I have been ripped off by someone with hundreds of posts and had extreme luck with people under 100 ??? oh well here is one post anyway

Actually if you have even looked recently, we revised the for sale section so that new members can see the sale section but not post stuff for sale until they make the post count, so that is a mute point

I see that new people come on to complain but don't take the time to read and we have to still answer the same questions about every page or two..... the same answer yet again..

we get tired of spambots and scammers, not just scammers though which is what all new guys get offended about... we hate having to delete crap posts about viagra. we still have to but at least we can slow it down with the rules we have in place

this is not fleebay, this is a forum/community for exchanging ideas. deals are made between members and the only way to become a member is to join and contribute, then people get to know something about the person that joins, and they eventually all see we are right and why we do it...

so please take the time to read first. and if you see something in the sale section you'd like to buy, send a pm to the seller because you can see the sale section without a post limit, but you can't post anything there.

now that you have nothing to complain about anymore, try an add a useful post now and then and join into the discussions in a CANADIAN forum, which is made for racers, bashers, sky pilots, crawlers, drifters and even water craft.... we try to cover it all and there is a lot of useful information.... the sale section is very small and a pain in the * to deal with. we even considered turfing the sale section at times because it is way too much work. if people would just read and follow through with the guidlines, then there wouldn't be a need for this, but of course the time involved in reading rather than typing and waiting for someone to give the meaning of life is easier

and the meaning of life is all about fertility and passing on the genes when we rot back to dirt... so even in death some people contribute to rc racing more than some do in their living states

As Pipeous has stated the 10 post rule has been lifted so all new members can see the for sale section but can not post in that section until they have reached the necessary amount of posts required.

I understand the idea of bots -- I've seen them in effect in a forum before.
But at the same time, you don't want to turn off the potential visitors/members. This hobby is not as popular as it could be for the most part. Where I am, it's a faint flame burning with some guys. Some new, some old-timers and those that are making a comeback.

I notice things are going slow on this site. The RCOttawa site has more going on even if we're a small group. Well it's local and we can talk, share info and talk and announce races and discuss.

Im new to the site, I think making a post limit is a good idea for any sight, Thetoyz I believe is 25 post. Really all your doing withing the first 15 post is getting use to the site, how navigate, and making some rc friends.

Keep up the good work. I could only amagine the hours you put into keeping a safe/clean forum.
