FastCats Offroad Classes and General Info

We are offering an indoor offroad carpet track to the FastCats schedule this year. This will be a new experience for some of us, who will have lots to learn (so be patient with us) and for some it will be an old friend .....newly visited! We will be watching with interest the vehicles that show up but hope the following will give us some guidelines to start with. Remember that these classes will only grow with your support.

Although jump testing has been done , decisions on tires have not been finalized. We will need you to work with us and give us feedback on what works on the track the first couple of weeks so final decisions can be made. A forum thread on the subject would be a great way to discuss the topic and help us come to any conclusion.Offroad Classes:

In the past FastCats has observed ROAR rules as a guideline for our big races and for our club racing. With this in mind we will be following ROAR's direction in 2007/2008 to currently at this time not allow lipo's. However we understand that many have invested in this technology and We are currently reviewing the insurance policy with our insurance agents, no final decisions have been made yet. There are many considerations that we have had to think about when making this decision. For those that don't know...."ROAR is responsible for producing and maintaining rules that are fair for all parties involved members and manufacturers alike"

While ROAR has not made a decision on brushless and brushed motors, there is pressure locally to make more time available to the driver on race nights, either to socialize or race another class. We will therefore be allowing the brushed and brushless motors in the classes and will say that if there appears to be any advantage of one over another over time, that we will make a decision to separate them if necessary. Unfortunately this will ultimately reduce the number of racers in any specific class as the group is redistributed over more classes....we do not see anyway to solve this without having everyone conform to the same equipment.

General Rules:

Personal Transponders are accepted and highly recommended.
tire compound allowed is Corally "Jack the Gripper" or Niftech, and no other tire cleaners
No abusive or offensive language
No smoking(only in permitted areas)
Please remember that we are a family oriented track
Everyone is at a different level of ability, please have respect for your fellow racer and do not drive over them!
Applicable to the following motor ( 27T)

No modifications from the original manufacturers physical construction of the motor can, endbell, or armature will be permitted.
Only commutator cutting, shimming, brush and/or spring replacement allowed.
Only machine wound motors allowed
No hybrid motors or mixing of components from different motors allowed
