I have a stampede tranny and wondering what I can do with it? Is it better to use it to build a crawler or is it better just to but a axial crawler and have it all done for you? I really only have the tranny for now I am not new to building but reality new to building a crawler from scratch.

Thank you for your help.

you can use it in a crawler build, it would probably be more costly to build a crawler parts wise, and time wise. Unless you get stuff for real cheap, but i would imagine you wont get axles for less than 100 bucks, wheels and tires will run you between 80 and 100 bucks, you need to come up with a chassis, shocks, and driveshafts. so if your question is "is it easier to buy a Axial?" then yes, and cheaper. The Axial is a great base for a solid rock crawler. The axles come with Aluminum Lockers, the tranny is already locked, and it comes with every thing you need except for electronics. But if you want something that you built that is a mix of different parts that you choose then do it yourself. It costs more to build your own, but its your build.

And if ya get a axial, ill take that stampede tranny off yer hands, lol
