honestly, i would just go brushless. i could almost guarantee everyone will be running brushless. Brushless is just on demand power, little or no maintaince, and is just a better system overall. I think most hobby shops have them for $150 and that's the esc and motor combo. If you do go brushless go with the 6800kv package since it's in between torque and speed which is what you want.

If you don't want a good brushless motor and want a brushed motor check these out:

-Venom fireball 370p (adds a little more power)
-Reedy Mini-Max modified motor
-LRP Fusion
-Orion Baja modified micro
-HPI Micro Modified
-Nosram Extreme Mini Modified Micro Motor
-Team Orion Big Block Micro Mod Motor
-Team Orion Elite Micro Modified

Any of these motors are good! But anybody that experienced these motors please feel free to put in you input. I have used the Venom Fireball, and the Reedy mini max in my rc18t (i used to have) and they were great motors! had a nice punch on them and great power. Hope this helps. Tekno.

well, we are looking forward to the first ever TCS offroad race tomorrow...
I know the numbers are not high, but you have to start somewhere!
If you are going to join us to race we would prefer that you sign up on line, it helps us guage the number of pit spaces...and we do put the info in the computer the night before so that we can be on time for racing (our first ever onroad TCS we had 95 people show up and no one was registered - it took us 3 hours!)

Because the TCS numbers are smaller and the time will go quicker we are going to open the afternoon to a normal FastCats offroad practice from 2pm - 8:00pm. Those that run the TCS race will be welcome to stay and play for free!
