An old coffee can with a plastic lid works well for me, my buggy fits nicely on top and as an added bonus you can store stuff inside the can. Plus when you open the lid you get that nice coffee smell.

I made a DuraTrax style stand with a block of wood and dowel.

Its just a few blocks of wood with a dowel up through the middle. I had all the stuff kicking around as scraps in the basement. I built it with a scroll saw and a drill press.

Its hard to describe, a picture is worth 1000 words.

I wrapped the dowel in tin foil to make it spin smoother. And before I got the 18T i used this exact same stand on my HPI nitro MT 10th scale stadium truck. I just had a larger base and a few more spacers in the great!

Old CD spindle destined for the recycle bin, ancient 2.2GB hard drive, a little door insulation foam, instant car stand. It even has a magnet for the body clips. lol

I went with the custom PVC piping stand for my savage. I think it was like $30 in parts from Homedepot, CA glue I had and $8 for Krylon Paint from Crappy Tire.

Took a couple hours of time and I also painted the dead lawn area green again.

Unpainted .. but it's green metallic now.
