i have never seen a gas boat stall out unless they run out of fuel.
the newer proboats have a nice clutch set up to prevent this if the flex shaft snaps.
nitro boats however are different...

I seen an idea last week on RCTV. Electric boat dragging a floating tennis ball, and it it circled the stranded boat until the line got caught on some part, then a slow tow ride back to shore. Neat.
I use my 14' aluminum as rescue. Gas boat the only way to go in my opinion. I got a Warehouse hobbies Magnum 57, and it's a blast.

re return to shore feature

the traxxas nitro vee has an electric return to shore feature on the boat.

if you run out of fuel or flame out you can use the electric motor to drive it back to shore.

unfortunately the return to shore feature was the only good thing about this boat.

i got rid of it because it was a slug. my aquacraft nitro hammer was a much better boat even though it if run out of fuel or flamed out i had to go out and tetrieve it..
