Hey guys and gals ok so im having a little prob with my truck and cant figure it out, hopefully someone round here can shed a little light down on me and help me out.

First of all the motor only has bout 1 1/2 gallons of fuel threw it...

ran amazing for first 10-12 tanks then out of no where started runnign really really Shi77y. Been messing around the last 3 weeks and kind of got tuning to a level i was "satisfied" (not even close to ideal though) but the problem is im only 1 1/2 turns out on high speed needle from closed!!! EXTREMLY LEAN!! any richer then that and the thing doesnt even move.

ive tried rebuilding the motor and ev erythign inside looks great but no mater what i do i cant get it to run like it should. im maybe getting a top speed of 20-25 mph and jsut BARELY shifting into second.

any ideas? ive heard everything from blocked exhaust, bad fuel, dirty filter, air leak in lines/tank etc etc and ive checked them all with no finds.

please help or post any other ideas you think it might be.

thx in advance for any help.!!!

hmmmmm, you say your HSN is 1.5 turns from shut thats way too lean for these engines. i had the same problem with mine and come to find out i had to play with the LSN. and i also had a slight rip in my o ring in the fuel cap. check those out and let me know how you do

yea i already checked the ring and tank for slight leaks but there doesnt appear to be anything. the LSN i was running at stock (flush with pin) but thought it might be a good idea to richen to compensate for the extreme leanness of the HSN.

Gotta add also that my highest temperature so far is only 260 at its highest! thats what i dont get.. very lean but temperature is all good... wtf!! lol

Big question??? what was the temperature outside when you where having tuning issues? This plays a big roll in tuning, acurate engine temp and max. engine performance.

As for 1 1/2 turns from closed.... WAAAAAAY to lean for cold ambient temperatures!!! General rule is the warmer the ambient temp the leaner the HSN setting.... the cooler the ambient temp the richer the HSN setting. As well it's really hard with the TRX engines to reach max performance when running in colder temps.

** FIXED! ** (i think)

ok so i THOUGHT i had checked exhaust for blocks but i guess not well enough.. anyways i figured id crack open the stock muffler since i have a chrome tuned pipe on the way and what do ya know the PLASTIC internal baffle was melted to ! even though exhaust was still coming out i guess the melted baffle was jsut enough to restrict air flow.

anyways im up and running better then ever before and once again amazed with the speed my little t-maxx is capable off.

hope this helps anyone in the future who had the same problem, and thx to the people who replied trying to help!
