Lightbulb New Offroad Electric time

Alright, after watching the fun last night at a local indoor race I figure it may be time to outfit the kids and myself in some new electric trucks. I love my nitro Savage but there's a time and place for other rides.

So, the kids are 7 and 10 and have a little RC experience with store level stuff, but no real RC. Myself, I figure for what it would take to get my ancient Losi XT going, I may as well get a new ride (what the heck eh)

Personally I'd like to pick up 3 new E-Maxx's but that's a biggish investment and probably overkill. Cruising around online, I'm leanin towards a pair of Traxxas Rustlers for them and maybe a Rustler VXL for myself.

Opinions? Better alternatives for same kinda $$?

hm. I was hoping for a little feedback.

Plans have changed slightly - the kids want Stampedes, which is probably a better idea for all around offroad fun. I'm sticking to the Rustler VXL for myself though.

Brushless all the way. the vxl is a decent system. Vonclod has the brushless pede. he wasn't at the last race but the one before. he has adapters on his to run 1/8 buggy wheels. that thing handles way better now with the buggy wheels.... since novice class is pretty open for rc's, the pede for kids is a good choice....

I'll be able to make the next one, sucks I had to miss out but sometimes life tosses curveballs.

try to make it out to Plazma Raceway this Saturday. That track looks absolutley amazing and electrics only. Sunday is the grand opening race at Kamikaze and will be a mix of classes but they want to implement no brushless so not sure what will happen to the electrics there tbh. I don't know many people that even have a brushed motor left in their rc's unless it's an rtr kit.

the best deal around

the best deal around is the duratrax evader ext truck. RTR for $119. you can't beat that. and it's a good truck for starters.
