He's Asking about which Mill for His LST,& I awnswered.....Strait Up the LRP Spec 3

It's a Better Mill.....Plus the Fact that you can Use the Losi Roto Starter on the LRP (Just need to Elongate the Holes inward on the Plastic Roto Backplate for the Mach)Which means it's a Easy Drop in for a LST......

i have a 28 rr and its not the fastest engine ive ever had but its a solid reliable engine.sublimejason is right about the lrp being faster but the lrp is also alot thurstier.
the 28rr isnt too far behind in power though.i modded mine and its alot faster now than my stock lrp 28 bumpstart version.
i also swapped out carbs and installed a magnesium cooling head.
i have read alot of people say they had problems but i hear that about every nitro motor and it all comes down to the user.ive owned 5 axial engines and they have all been super reliable mills.
but if it was between the two the spec 3 is a better value for your money as they are about the same price and the lrp is faster from the get go and also a super reliable engine.

I only have experience with the stock HPI 4.3 and the axial .28 (not the RR) the axial has been very forgiving with me being fairly new to the nitro world. It seems to hold a tune fairly well, with only minor tweaks here and there (due to weather etc.). I have had experienced guys watch my truck run and be impressed with the amount of get up and go that it has, asking what kind of engine I am running in it.

The axial is VERY VERY underpowered compared to an LRP or Picco P3 and not to mention its dangerously unreliable....for me the engine started giving me problems right after break in and it just did not move the LST2 like I've seen on videos and in reality.
The Mach 427 is a very good budget engine IMO because it was designed for the LST2 so its powerful and reliable and holds a tune forever. You can pick one up on ebay for like $115. I've been disappointed by Axial and I don't think I'm going to stay away from that brand.

Lst2 & .28rr.....

A friend of mine has a .28RR in his LST2 and it takes forever to get up and get going. The Mach works good in Losi trucks(maybe cuz it's a losi engine...hint hint).IMO LST's are crap the tranny gearing sucks, which is why it only runs good on certian engines.

Do yourself a favor and get a Savage....I went from stock Savy wheel/tire to MGT wheel/tire....and with the Axial I didn't even notice a acc/topspd difference.

Like I said before,my Axial has given me NO issues what so ever since new....and that Savage was run thru the winter and practicaly a daily driver....its' not always the motor...some times its the owner

LST's are crap?!?I think that's the first time I've ever read that. They're known to be bomb proof and are one of only two competitively raced MTs.....makes sense.

LRP Spec 3 and Picco P3 are the way to go in an LST.Just my opinion.
