ez, take out the engine, then you will see 3 or 4 screws on the pull starter. unscrew them. 2nd step is important, when you pull the pull starter out put you finger behind the pull starter so the assembly doesn't pop out of the pull starter. If that happens it's a pain in the to get back in. Keep your finger behind the PS and wrap the PS with tape then you will see the one way. Pull it out, clean it clean the shaft too. try agian and see it it works. If it doesn't, it's time for a new one. Make sure it's in the right way. Tekno.

you shouldn't have too. If the engine is new then it's regular that that happens because, of the pinch and compression. One ways go out allot during that period. Tekno

one way bearings need to be cleaned once in a while. if you are using traxxas 20% sport fuel, miore often then. the oil in the fuel gums up the bearing causing them to slip. just sprat it out with nitro clean, brake cleaner etc

you can cheat and tip the truck back and spray in the carb and let it fall back to the bearing, say when out playing and you don't want to take it all apart, or pull the glowplug and spray down there and tip the truck. work the bearing with the starter a few times then tip it upside down so the excess comes out, then replace the glowplug. might need a couple sprays.... but the best bet is to pull the engine and remove the backplate... grab a new one anyway, a spare is always a good thing to have

wd40 will work but remember this is the ghetto fix hehe. Shortcuts are fine for when in a hurry but shortcuts are not always the best way of doing things...

some people drill a hole in the plastic backplate to spray into as well. then make a plug to cover/put in the hole to keep crud out.
