Well I'm in the middle of my rebuild with the xxx-cr and a 4800 xcelorin system...First step into brushless.I was just curious if anyone had any gearing suggestions..losi recommends 10.7 gearing suggestion...If I am correct this is calculated by spur/pinion x 2.43(xxx-cr 2.43 final drive ratio)
...With a 78 spur and a 18 pinion this makes 10.5...Now the problem I have is the 78 spur and 18 pinion are a tad loose on the mesh for my liking...The can is pushed right up against the gear box..

Sad to say I was not able to use it long enough to complain about any issues. Finally got it set up to take to Sids...It was running great, should have went brushless last year...Now the sad part , when I installed the capacitor in the car I didn't secure it down..It barely had any room to move.It was sitting between the esc and the back end of the car...Well some how my body managed to creep up and the cap decided to jump right into the left rear wheel...I thought I had hit a small stone...The odd part was I didn't even notice it had flown right out of the car...Continued to drive with no problems...Well this cap has a little circuit board attached with two wires coming out of it , those wires were ripped off the board by the trace..The cap itself suffered some dents.I'm now left trying to order a new one...You can order it separately but I don't know if it is in stock yet or how long it will take to order... Besides that it was running great , had it out 4 times with no problems noticed...I was still messing around with the gearing to try and keep the can cooler but it seemed to be doing ok...
