I usually discharge then equalize my packs after every run. Last time out at FastCats I was the only one not using lipo so I decided to just top them off after each run. It worked fine but I found that with 3 packs they were ready way too soon and didn't have the punch they would have had had they came right off the charger and onto the track.

If you have the time to discharge & equalize do it. Equalize the pack to 0.9v/cell. I discharge mine on my ICE to 1.1v/cell then throw it on the Novak Smart tray. If you don't have time make sure you cool the pack before charging/topping it off. I use a 3"x3" 12v fan plugged into my power supply. Works great for cooling batts/motors/me

Oh, I'm just using a small light bulb to discharge them until the bulb is dim. I am still using Nihm batteries and they seem to do the job. 3000 Mah for qualfiers and 3600 Mah for the mains. Never had a problem with them dying on me yet
