Question Losi 8ight rtr runtime ?

This is my first nitro and was wondering how long of a runtime should I expect when tuned ? I was just puttering around in the backyard not blistering speeds but working thr throttle and quick short speed bursts and was roughly 8 minutes. Now someone helped me tune my engine from stock setting of 2.5 turns from bottom for the high-speed and low-speed needle settings . I watched him adjust only the highspeed adjust. Should I expect that from the rtr 427 engine?

Mach engin

I used my rtr engin for last season, and I was not getting anymore than 6 minutes runtimes...now I am a "on off" type of driver with absolutely no experience, so this may not mean much to you.
I had my engine tuned pretty lean on the bottom end as this engine did not have a lot of grunt to get me flying into the air on some jump combos, and I finely tuned the top each time I ran as per weather conditions.
Good luck.

The amount of run time depends on your style of driving and your needle settings.

If you are running rich, it will use more fuel then not being rich, as well if your always WOT then this will eat it up.

Generally I think your in the ball park with the 6 - 8 minute mark, with the rtr engine.

If you drop to a .21 your run time with the same settings and driving style would increase.

akhor, going down to a .21 won't necessarily increase runtimes. theres way too many variables, from the efficiency of the motor's design, the tune, the pipe (which makes a big difference sometimes) and even the fuel (different types of fuel allow different needle settings).

I just put a few tanks through my 8IGHT buggy and with the O.S. vspec I am getting 7 to 8 minutes per tank , this was just bashing around but I am a point and shoot type
