Unhappy Savage Xl Heat Sink Guard

Hey just wanting to know if anyone who has a Savage XL has contacted HPI about the short heat sink guard?????? BECAUSE IT WOULD BE NICE FOR A LONG ONE. ALSO I NEED A NEW BODY AND IM NOT BUYING THE OLD STOCK ONE THATS FOR SURE! HELP

^ From what I understand, when HPI made the XL longer, they did it by extending the back end - they moved the back axle farther from the gearbox. This puts the rear shock tower that the optional motor guard attaches to farther away from the rollover bar that the guard also attaches to BUT nobody at HPI clued in that they would have to make the guard longer too, so it no longer fits.

And THAT is superlame.

Since the didnt change any of the suspension parts, just made it longer with new plates, and axle extenders. They use the same parts trees that come on a savage X, so they got cheap and didnt want to re-tool any machines, molds etc... to make an xl specific parts tree with a longer guard, and that is why you get one that is too small, because it is for a savage X.

P.S. if you wanna protect your cooling head put fuel tubing around the top of it and zip tie it down through the cooling fins.
