Depends what you wanna to do i would either replace the stock motor with a brushless or re gear it i found my rustler is more powerful with a smaller pinion i run a 18 on mine and its a good balance. I'd also get some rpm A arms front and Rear, rpm over sized bearing carries front and rear. Proline has bead lock rims and some better tires now maybe play with the shock oil. If money isn't a problem a ball diff.

I know a lot of clubs are in the talks about racing these in a spec class next year. So if you are planning on racing them a lot the tunning and hop ups may be a waist.

running a lipo battery in a stock slash

alot of guys are using 2s lipos in their slashes with no issues.

a 2s lipo is only 7.4 v the stock esc can handle it. the only thing you have to be careful about when running a lipo is that the esc doesnt have a lipo cutoff setting so you have to keep an eye on your voltage to ensure you dont discharge it below 6 volts.
