For the Savage, the first thing to check is the slipper - it's the most prone to damage and the easiest to check.

Basically you have to determine what DOES turn and what does NOT turn.

Start the truck. Hold it in place by the bumper and blip the throttle. If the clutch bell and spur turn but the truck doesn't want to go then look closer at the front side of the spur at the metal slipper plate. It is probably not turning when the spur does. At this point, pull the spur off and I bet the slipper disc is gone.

If you blip it and the clutch bell and spur do not turn then it is a clutch issue - whether shoes, springs, or cone.

IF the slipper plate turns along with the spur then you need to look at the front and rear driveshafts to see if they turn. If not, something is up in the tranny. If they do, then look at the drive dogbones. If they do not turn then something is up at the diff(s)
