The track is perfect for 4wd. 2wd is fine but you have to double single a couple of jumps instead of clearing them. I recommend trying them out next time they run electric. REALLY fun track and no tire wear.

Their sprinkler system is something to watch. There must have been 20 heads pop up and water the track in a few minutes. Traction was pretty good after a light sprinkling.

Steve, do you mind if I ask a couple questions about your eRC8?

I'm just trying to match up the setup I've seen in reality (your eRC with the numbers that this RC top speed estimator spits out. This will help me greately when deciding on what motor kV/battery cell count/pinion tooth count to get for my 8ight conversion.

Now I'm making a few assumptions that I'm not 100% sure about:
-You using the RCPD kit's Kyosho 46T plastic spur gear
-Your tire diameter is 4.5 inches with 0.1 added to cover the top speed 'ballooning tires' effect (probably underestimating this)
-The RC8 is using truggy ratios 43/10 for the front/rear diffs instead of standard buggy 43/13 ratios

Anyway, the results I'm getting are about 40mph top speed (approximately accounting the wind resistance, 42.5mph without that).

Please correct me if I've got any of the inputs wrong.

Anyway, just wanted to confirm with you if you feel that's pretty accurate. At first I thought a 20 tooth pinion was pretty large for a 1/8 scale buggy conversion (most guys over at seemed to be using 12-16T pinions), but when I realized the RC8 looks to be using a truggy front/rear diff ratio of 43/10 instead of 43/13, that could explain the higher tooth pinion.

Second question I wanted to ask, since I kinda forgot to do this more precisely when I saw your buggy in person... How tall is your battery, exactly? Since your body is clear, this will be pretty easy for you to answer. How much clearance is there left until the battery would hit the body?

I know you have a different car, but I think this should be similar in either one. From what I know so far, I think the tallest battery you can fit in the 1/8 buggies with RCPD kit ultimate battery tray is about 40-45mm, closer to 40mm. I guess when the batteries are 50mm tall, that side of the body will be 'pushed up'.

Thanks a lot in advance. I'm posting this here in case this info will be useful to others...
