You jus bit off a mouth full. Building a from scrach hull has alot involved. In the long run it will probably cost you as much if not more than just ordering an empty hull from a suplier. Are you sure you want to go that way?

If you have your heart set on it I would go to RC Sports in Woodbridge and talk to Rich. He used to build and sell hulls once upon a time. He would be able to tell you all about what you would need to form it properly.

The motor and prop combo would depend on the size and weight of the hull, also what you want to use it for (fun with long run time or race for ten minutes)

i never built a mould but have done (atleast started) building hulls in my marine past...

i would suggest using cardboard to get your design down pat then use the pieces as a patter for making the rest of the parts from wood.... from there you could skin the hull in light ply, cover it with gelcoat, then make your moulds i guess???

myself personnaly i would use light bals sanded down to near nothin' then skin it with very light glass....

just some ideas, hope they help you... like the others sai it can be very costly/time consuming but it can be worth it in the end

another thing i would maybe do... find a set of plans to build from... thats kinda scratch lol
