Looking to possible add a 5th Scale Track

I am playing around with an idea and I wanted to see if there was any interest. I sold my Motocross bike this past summer for good and I have the land where my small Supercross track was. It is sitting empty and I thought with the width of the lanes and tamming the MX jumps down that this could be the start to a dedicated 1/5 scale track. I am located 20 minutes north of Toronto just off the 400.

As I have the 1/8 Scale RC track right beside it, I could even use my transponder system to score racing if it goes this far. We would use one of my tabletops as the driverstand to begin. I have enough room that the track could be virtually as big as vision allows for.

This is just a thought, please give me some idea if you would be into this before I put the cart infont of the horse!

you'd be surprised how many bajas have been sold since their inception years ago. after watching that race in Spain (on the site), I think that there would be some interest. gas engines with runtimes of about 45min! that's pretty nutz. I don't know if I would want to marshal without Football gear on?

I have been praying to the rc god's for a place like this. I normally drive down to Hostile Hobby in the US for his 5th scale track.

I can speak for me and 2 of my freind and say that we would be there every chance we get....

I have owned my Baja SS for almost a year now. Since I bought it to RACE it, I am still on my first tank of fuel. LOL. Would love it if there was a place to race.

I'd be in and so would a lot of my friends who have Bajas.

Been to your track once when you first started it was very nice. I know you're capable of making a great venue.

My vote, yes love to see a 5th scale track.

Mac that would be sick. That's a track I've been wanting to build back in Bellevegas but it's hard to get down there on weekends right now.I really think you are on to something huge here, it's starting to take off in the U.S, it's only a matter of time before it takes off here my friend. If you need a hand just send me a pm.

Yes that would be excellent indeed! If you watch the Euro vids there are not many jumps. It's more about technique and setup and a large space. It would definetly be a big plus for a lot of guys who have LS's.

On a side note IF there are races here are some of the rules they use in Europe. This may have to be tweaked for Baja's though.

Engine and fuel - max 26cc Motors will be permitted.
Only fuel available at Roadside Service Stations to be used. (no race fuels)
Fuel tank capacity will be limited to 700cc + 10% .
No Boost bottles allowed.
The manufacturers Kill Switch must be made easy to both access and
operate, access provided, if necessary, by cutting a hole in the
A Standard Cut-out switch marker to be affixed to the body shell
within 1 inch of the location of the switch. All cars will be tested if
there kill switch works on the start line. If not the car will not be
allowed to run in that heat or final.
The Exhaust system to be mounted such that the Manifold does not
protrude further forward than the front window post and the system must
run as close to the body as possible. Stingers must not be mounted
under the rear wing.
Forward routed exhaust systems must not protrude from any forward
facing part of the bodyshell. The Scrutineer's decision will be final.
The maximum width of any part of the car, measured with the chassis
pushed fully to the ground, will be 480mm.
The maximum length of car from front bumper to rear of wing is 820mm
Height max 360 fully compressed
Weight min 8000grams
Bumpers will be mandatory at the front and optional at the rear.
Transponders to be fitted in such a way as to keep them as free from
damage as possible
Preferred to be inside the car as close to the ground as possible
Carbon fibre
There are to be no exposed carbon fibre i.e. body , wings , carbon
fibre or any GRP (glass reinforced plastics) can only be used under the
body shell
Tyre addatives are allowd but must not be added in the pit area.
Scruntineering will be on a random basis, with a Size box, being
provided to allow drivers to check their vehicle dimensions.
