Only the second week in and racing is off the hook. First off, a big thanks to everyone that came out today. It was good to see Paul Nam and Mike Barrett from PA and Fred and Chet Kelsey from Ontario. It was also good to see Mark Stetzle make it out again this week. You guys always raise the level of competition a notch or two when you come to the track. Now to the racing!

2WD Buggy
After a few close rounds of qualifying Chet Kelsey was TQ by 0.6 sec. in front of Justin Williams with Paul Nam only 1 sec. behind in 3rd. The B main saw Zack Myers lay down some consistent laps and take the win to bump to the A main. Milkman finished second (Milk 1 – Fred 0). The A main had Chet Kelsey leading the way. Chet fell back to 3rd after the first lap but he worked his way back up to 1st and didn’t look back. Paul Nam was a consistent 2nd and Mike Barrett fell back at the beginning but was able to make it back to 3rd. Scott Cimato was the top local finishing 4th.

4WD Open
18 4WD cars made it out. Mike Barrett took away TQ from Brian Bellinger by less than 1/10th of a second in the last qualifier. Mark Stetzle won the D main. Fred finished in front of Milkman (Milk 1 – Fred 1. I guess they continue this again next time.) Cory Pulliam made it back out and was getting his form back by taking the C Main. Rick Redmin stayed consistent winning the B and bumping up to the tough A main. The A Main has Mike Barrett starting in front but Brian Bellinger took the lead after 3 laps, Brian stayed out front and increased his lead lap by lap taking the win. Justin Williams had a tough first lap and fell to last but was able to make it up to 2nd by the end of the race. Dan Bach stayed smooth and took 3rd.

Stadium Truck
Stadium truck is getting a great variety of drivers. Dan Bach took the TQ with Tom Heims qualifying 2nd. Jim Mazurek continued to improve his consistency and took the C main. Anthony Muscato made it back from RC Pro finals in Texas and took the B main. There was quite a battle between Mark Stetzel and Brandon Oddo for 2nd. Dan Bach had an easy drive to take the A main win. Ryan Bossert and Cory Pulliam had the battle of the day swapping back and forth between 2nd and 3rd six times. Ryan stayed tight in the last corner and was able to finish a car length in front of Cory for 2nd. Rick Redmin was able to stay on the same lap to take 4th in his first stadium truck race (must have been the car.)

The Slash class continues to be the fun class to drive. Bill Gumbert, Mark Smith and Bill Defranco all had new cars. Kevin Siller had his Slash dialed and took TQ with Bill Gumbert qualifying 2nd. All 8 cars started the A main and the drivers took “rubbin” to a new level. Kevin Siller was able to lay down some stadium truck-like lap times and drive thru the traffic to take the win by a lap. Bill Gumbert adjusted well to indoor racing and took 2nd and Mark Smith’s Slash held up to Mark’s driving to take 3rd.

Notes from the day
Some new drivers are already stepping up their game. Brandon Oddo finished in the middle of the B in only his second stadium truck race, watch out guys. Dave Craiglow is adjusting to electric racing and continues to improve each week. Kevin McNerny is getting the setup right on his D4 and made the tough 4WD A main. Ryan Bossert is getting back into stadium truck and drove a great A main race. And whose idea was it to give Rick Redmin a stadium truck? The Slashes continue to amaze me as a stock spec class. The guys are getting them dialed and they are built like a tank. With all of the rubbin going on in the main everyone’s Slash held up.

It was good to race with our out-of-town friends and we hope to see more of you this year. Thanks again to everyone for making it a great day.
