Happy Holidays Everyone! There was a good turnout considering it was the race before Christmas. The new layout added to the challenge this week but everyone seemed to adjust quickly.
Zack Myers had his RB5 flying in qualifying with the only 19 lap run and Justin Williams qualified his B4 in the #2 spot. The impressive run was Rick Redmin with his old school RC10 buggy. He was only 1 lap off the pace which was great considering the age of the car. Zack and Justin had a good battle in the main with Zack leading the 1st half of the race. Justin was finally able to get around Zack and held the lead for the win. Rick Siller finished 3rd.
Dennis Himes had his B44 dialed this week and was able to take the top qualifying spot in front of Justin Williams by 3 sec. The C main saw a good back-and-forth battle between Rick Siller and Steve Campbell. They swapped the lead a few times before Rick was finally able to get out front for good and take the win. Randy Tredway finished 3rd. Kevin McNerny and Rick Redmin had the closest finish of the day. Rick kept on Kevinís bumper the whole race but Kevin was able to hold his position and finish 3/10 sec. in front of Rick. After taking the bump, Rick Siller was able to finish 3rd. Dennis Himes was able to maintain his cool through the whole A main with only a few laps over 15 sec. He started in front and stayed there the whole race to take the win. Justin Williams and Kevin McNerny had a good battle for 2nd. Justin was able to take the #2 spot in the middle of the race and kept applying the pressure to Dennis to no avail.
We had another full field of stadium truck. The Losi trucks were putting in a strong showing. The qualifying order was Brian Bellinger, Tom Himes and Cory Pulliam all with 19 laps. Brandon Oddo won the C main and took the bump. Janice Himes continues to improve and took 2nd. The B main was the battle of the Losiís with Dan Black starting out front and finishing in front of Anthony Muscato by 3 sec. for the win. The A main was the closest race of the day with the top 4 drivers finishing on the same lap. Dan Black carried over his success from the B main and was able to work thru the field to take the win by 2 sec. over Brian Bellinger. Cory Pulliam was a close 3rd just a sec. behind Brian.
The Slashes drove a bit differently on the new layout with Tom Himes taking the TQ spot. Zack Myers qualified 2nd just 1 sec. in front of Kevin Siller. Dennis Himes and Mike Carey were able to take the 1 and 2 spots in the B main to bump up to the A. The A main seemed like everyone was driving to the mall for that last minute gift, just no mercy. Dennis Himes was able to get thru the field for the win with Zack Myers and Allan Tanski having a close battle for 2nd and 3rd.
Notes from the day
It was another good day spent with friends and everyone was looking forward to the holidays. Rick Redminís old school RC10 buggy held up well and ran some good times. I think itís time to schedule a ďvintageĒ race. It also seems like the Losi trucks are holding their own.
Thanks again to everyone who came out and we hope to see you all again soon.
