Well these's no racing this week so at least you can review last week's results. We had a good crowd the week before the Mid-West Electric Champs race. Looks like everyone wanted to get in some last minute practice.
It was a light field this week but the big note was Keith Billanti out with a RB5. Qualifying and the mains were consistent with Justin Williams taking the TQ and win, Dan Black as #2 and Keith #3.
4WD was another great battle this week. Kevin McNerny got his B44 dialed in to take the TQ spot and Brian Bellinger qualified 2nd just 0.1 sec in front of Justin Williams. The D main was a tight race with Kevin Siller, Steve Campbell and Randy Treadway close together the whole race. Kevin was able to finish in front of Steve by less than a sec. with Randy finishing just 3 sec behind the leaders. The C main saw Jason Wruck keep his #1 starting spot all the way to the finish with Kevin Siller and Ryan Bossert a close 2nd and 3rd. The B main started and finished in the same order with Dan Black keeping his #1 spot and Rick Redmin finishing 2nd. Kevin McNerny made the best of his lead position in the A main by staying in 1st the whole race. Justin Williams kept applying pressure but was not able to get by Kevin and finished 1 sec. behind in 2nd. Dan Black made the most of his bump up to finish 3rd.
Truck is getting as popular as 4WD and had 4 heats. Cory Pulliam drove his T4 to the TQ spot with a blistering 20 laps. Dan Bach and Brian Bellinger qualified 2nd and 3rd. The D main had Janice Himes win her first race keeping ahead of Fred Johnson who took 2nd. Shawn Richards drove away with the C main by over a lap with Brandon Oddo taking 2nd. Time Himes and Anthony Muscato kept in front of everyone else in the B main to finish 1 Ė 2. The A main saw some early breakage but Cory was able to maintain is #1 spot for the win. Tom Himes drove thru the field for 2nd and Rick Redmin was close behind in 3rd.
The Slash class continues to grow with 3 full heats. Tom Himes continued his dominance by taking TQ. Brandon Oddo stepped it up to qualify 2nd and Steve Campbell qualified 3rd. The new format seemed to work out well. Dan Clinch won the C main with Dana Speta having a great race to finish 2nd. Dan took advantage of the bump up to drive thru the field and also win the B main with Randy Treadway close behind in 2nd. Steve Campbell really put the pressure on Tom Himes the whole A main but Tom was able to stay out front for the win. Steve was able to stay in front of Cory Pulliam for 2nd while Cory took 3rd.
Notes from the day
2Wd is little light but all of the other classes continue to grow. Iím pleased to see how competitive all of the mains have become. There are close battles in every race and itís the whole field instead of a few guys. Everyone is benefiting from the close competition at Glenwood and stepping up a level. It was good to see Keith Billanti out with the new Kyoshos. I feel the Slash class benefits from the new format, it seems everyone is trying to drive clean and have a good race while still being able to swap a little paint. Mrs. Bellingerís cookies and brownies were a big hit, get yours early next week.
Thanks again to everyone who came out and we hope to see you all soon.
